BAHAWALPUR:
A girl was shot dead by a spurned suitor on Wednesday.
Police said Muhammad Salman and his 19-year-old daughter Kubra were working in the fields near Ahmadpur Lama when Tahir and Maqbool stopped them.
Police said Tahir told Salman that he had rejected his proposal for Kubra’s hand in marriage. “Now I will kill you both,” he reportedly said.
They said the men shot Kubra and her father and fled.
Kubra died on the spot while her father was injured.
Ahmadpur Lama police took the body to the morgue for post mortem examination.
Police registered an FIR on Salman’s complaint and formed a team to arrest the suspects.
