Dual domicile: Inquiry ordered against RDA deputy director

The CM has ordered Rawalpindi Commissioner Zahid Saeed to conduct the inquiry

RAWALPINDI:
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered an inquiry against Tahir Meo, the deputy director of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), for allegedly holding and using domiciles of two provinces.

Sources said Meo, who had been appointed on contract as the RDA Building Control and Land deputy director, pursued his studies in Karachi using the domicile of the city. Later, he allegedly acquired a second domicile from his native Khanewal District in Punjab and on the basis of this domicile got employment in the RDA.



The Punjab chief secretary brought the matter into the notice of the Punjab chief minister when it came to his knowledge, the sources informed.


The CM has ordered Rawalpindi Commissioner Zahid Saeed to conduct the inquiry. Dr Afzal, the RDA director administration, as head of the inquiry committee has issued a notice to the deputy director Building, Control and Land and sought his reply within three days.
