Expansion phase: Sites finalised for new Rescue-1122 offices

BAHAWALPUR: The provincial government has promised to expand Rescue-1122 operations to all major tehsils and villages, Divisional Emergency Officer Malik Asif Rahim Channar told media people during his visit to Khairpur Tamewali on Tuesday to look for a location for construction of a Rescue-1122 station.

He said Rescue-1122 offices would be set up in Yazman tehsil and Khairpur Tamewali tehsil in Bahawalpur district and Fort Abbas, Haroonabad, Minchanabad and Chishtian tehsils in Bahawalnagar district in the current fiscal year.

The sites for operations offices in Fort Abbas, Haroonabad, Minchanabad and Chishtian tehsils have already been selected and transferred to the Rescue-1122’s name, he said.

Channar said that the General Bus Stand and the Canal Rest House sites in Khairpur Tamewali would be the perfect location for the new Rescue-1122 office.

He said that this would not only help the government ensure a safe community but will also provide jobs.
