Crop Protection : Flood threat leads to fresh instructions

LAHORE: The Punjab Agriculture department has advised cotton growers to monitor weather predictions before watering the fields here on Tuesday. According to its spokesman, farmers should adopt a proper strategy to drain rain water from fields. Nitrogen fertiliser should be used after analysing the fertility of the land and crop condition, he added. He also stressed upon the farmers to pay special attention of remove weeds which rapidly grow after rain. In case of leaf curl virus attack on cotton crops, farmers must not get disappointed, rather they must pay special attention to the crop and properly use fertilisers.
