Monsoon Season : Risk of dengue to increase: official
The official added that the directorate would focus on surveillance of vectors

Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairperson Maroof Afzal on Tuesday directed the health directorate to plan an integrated approach to combat dengue during the ongoing rainy season. At a meeting, the health service director presented an overview of the work that the directorate started early this year. He informed the meeting that during the monsoon rains, chances of dengue mosquito breeding increases. He said that the health directorate would focus on spraying and fogging in high-risk areas in the season. The official added that the directorate would focus on surveillance of vectors, destruction of breeding sites, solid waste management and fumigation. “Sectors I-8, to I-12, G-6, G-7, G-8, F-6, F-7 have been labelled ‘red’ and have been treated with larvicides and indoor residual spray,” the meeting was told.
