The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday dismissed an application filed by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Workers Welfare Board secretary, requesting the court to allow him to carry out his duties as secretary.
A division bench of Justice Irshad Qaiser and Justice Roohul Amin Khan dismissed the plea of WWB Secretary Naimatullah Gandapur against the stay order issued by the PHC’s Bannu bench.
Gandapur’s counsel said the stay order had stopped the secretary from performing his duty in the board. The stay was issued on a writ petition of Ikramullah, an employee of WWB.
Ikramullah’s counsel, Anwarul Haq, told the court the petition was filed over the secretary’s appointment that should have been approved by the governing body of Workers Welfare Fund Islamabad. “Gandapur belongs to the engineering cadre and cannot perform duty on the management cadre,” Haq added.
