KARACHI:
One of Karachi’s most popular eateries, Biryani of the Seas (BOTS), is set to reopen on Tuesday evening, days after it was shut down following a Rangers raid.
The restaurant, owned by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s MNA Ali Raza Abidi, was sealed by law enforcement agencies Thursday night.
“Law enforcement agencies have completed their investigations and allowed the reopening of Biryani of the Seas (BOTS), Clifton Branch,” Abidi told The Express Tribune.

On July 24, Rangers raided the restaurant in Karachi’s Clifton area, sealed it and detained Hassan Raza, the manager of the restaurant and Abidi’s cousin. However, Raza was released soon after.
Further, the Rangers issued a statement on Friday claiming to have arrested an alleged target killer during the raid.

According to the Rangers, Yameen alias AD, was involved in 10 cases of murder including those of four people at Goodluck Gardens in 2014. They said that they had been observing the restaurant and had information about the presence of target killers there. Yameen is also involved in robberies and forceful shutdown of markets during strikes, said the Rangers.
