The petitioner said he had paid Rs172,750 for the sheets and requested the court to direct the respondent
LAHORE:
A consumer court on Monday issued a notice to a vendor of tarpaulin sheets in a suit seeking damages of Rs500,000 for alleged sale of two substandard sheets to the plaintiff. Petitioner Abdul Qadir submitted that the salesperson at Amjad Tarpaulin House had assured him that the sheets he bought for his shop were water proof. However, he said water had leaked from the sheet during recent rains, causing damage to machines kept underneath. He said he had taken up the matter with the vendor and asked him to reimburse the money paid for the sheets. He added that the vendor had delayed the matter for some days and later refused to refund the amount. The petitioner said he had paid Rs172,750 for the sheets and requested the court to direct the respondent to pay him Rs500,000 damages.
