The paediatricians have enhanced their capacity on children’s disease especially diabetes type 1

More than 50 doctors participated in the three-day ‘First International Workshop on Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes’ organised by the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), in collaboration with Sanofi, that ended on Sunday. Doctors from Australia, Japan, Thailand and US also participated in the workshop. NICH director Prof Dr Jamal Raza said that it was the first time such a workshop was organised to connect Pakistani doctors with international ones. The paediatricians have enhanced their capacity on children’s disease especially diabetes type 1, he said. According to the International Diabetes Federation, the prevalence of diabetes in Pakistan is quite high, with a prevalence rate of 6.8 per cent.
