Police arrested a woman after she tried to kidnap a baby boy from a private clinic

Two people were arrested on Sunday for a kidnapping attempted. In Madina Town, police arrested a woman after she tried to kidnap a baby boy from a private clinic.  The Madina Town SHO said Sajida Bibi, wife of Meraj Din, went to a private delivery centre in Hasanpura where she gave birth to a boy. He said a few hours later, a woman entered her cubicle and introduced herself as a polio worker.“The woman took the baby, saying he needed the polio vaccine,” he said. He said she was getting into a rickshaw with the child when Bibi’s relatives spotted her. “They stopped the rickshaw and informed the police,” he said.  The spokesman said police had arrested the woman.  Separately, eight-year-old Madiha was playing in a street near Qadirabad Chowk when a man, later identified as Farhan, tried to abduct the girl. He said residents of the area rescued her when she called for help.They beat up Farhan and handed him over to police.  The spokesman said a formal complaint had not been moved. A team has been formed to investigate the incident nonetheless.
