HYDERABAD:

The police are awaiting the post-mortem report of the bodies of the young man and a woman recovered from the garage of a house in Heerabad on Friday, said Market SHO Muneer Abbassi.

Abbassi believes that the deaths of Syed Irtaza Masood, 24, and Faryal Zaidi, 22, were caused by suffocation because the garage appeared air tight. This version has also been corroborated by deceased's younger brother, Hadi.

SSP Irfan Baloch also said that the couple died from suffocation. It appeared that the garage's shutter was padlocked by one of deceased's friends or family members, he said. He does not believe that the two were murdered. The car engine was on when the family and neighbours broke into the garage, he said. The deceased were cousins and were engaged. The garage was located close to Irtaza's home.

However, the parents' cover-up of the incident without informing the police raised some suspicion. The police were tipped off by an anonymous call.
