HYDERABAD:

The bodies of a young betrothed couple were found in a car parked in a garage of a house in Hyderabad’s Heerabad neighbourhood Friday evening. The medico-legal office said an initial examination suggested that the two died due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

However, their parents aroused suspicion when they tried to bury the deceased Irtaza Zaidi, 24, and Faryal Zaidi, 22, without informing the police. According to SHO Market police station Muneer Abbassi, the bodies were taken to Imambargah Imamia Trust in Latifabad for burial rites. But the police swung into action when they were tipped off about the plan. Later, the bodies were shifted to the Civil Hospital for postmortem.

Dr Muneer Bhatti, medico legal office who conducted Irtaza's postmortem, said the initial examination suggests the CO poisoning. "There are no marks of torture or an injury. We have sent the samples for chemical examination," he told.
