Rising death rate: Naegleria claims another life

As many as 10 people have died in Karachi due to brain eating amoeba since April

KARACHI: One more death caused by the brain-eating amoeba has been reported in the city, raising the death toll to 10 since April.

According to Naegleria Control Committee focal person Dr Zafar Mehdi, 25-year-old Ahmed was admitted at a private hospital for the past few days.

Sources said that the patient died during treatment on Wednesday, while the provincial health department was informed on Thursday.
