Festivity marred: Protest against load shedding on Eid

These were the worst days of power cuts

FAISALABAD:
Scores of residents of Mohallah Ashrafabad in Samundri staged a protest demonstration on Tuesday against the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) over load shedding during Eid holidays. They staged a sit-in on Samundri Road disrupting traffic for hours. Speaking to the media, Nadeem Khan, one of the protesters, said, “Residents of Mohallah Ashrafabad and adjoining areas faced up to 20 hours of load shedding during the holidays.” He said the locals had faced great problem in offering Eid prayers.  “These were the worst days of power cuts,” said Nazeer Khan, a protester. “We called on the FESCO helpline but no official turned up to address the issue,” he said.

The protesters dispersed of when a police team, led by Samundri SHO, assured them it would take up the issue with the authorities concerned.
