Collision claims lives of two friends, injures four others
Their car rammed into a double cabin van on a one-way track in Phase VIII.

Two young men died while at least four others were injured in a traffic accident in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) early on Tuesday.
The accident took place near Moin Khan Academy when the deceased men's Toyota Corolla car collided with a double-cabin van on a one-way track in Phase VIII, DHA, within the limits of Darakshan police station.
The victims were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where Shamoon, 25, and Hammad, 24, were pronounced dead. The injured, Saif, Shahid, Bilal and Muqeem, were immediately shifted to Aga Khan University Hospital for further treatment.
Relatives said that the deceased were students of fashion designing at Asian Institute of Fashion Design in DHA. Shamoon was a resident of DHA while Hammad used to live in Bahadurabad.
Shamoon and his friends were coming back after watching a movie at Nueplex cinema in DHA at around 4:30am when the collision occurred. Shahid, who was driving the double-cabin van, was also among the injured and was taken to the hospital. "It was a one-way road and the drunken man or men in the double-cabin van were coming from the wrong side," said Muhammad Ashraf, the father of one of the injured, Bilal.
Meanwhile, police officials have also registered FIR No 404/14 on the complaint of Ashraf. "It is confirmed that the accident occurred on the one-way road but it has yet to be ascertained how it actually happened and who was responsible," said Darakshan SHO Ghulam Hussain Pirzada. "The investigations are in the initial stages and we have yet to obtain the footage recorded at the nearby CCTV [closed-circuit television] cameras." The officer said that a case has been registered while further investigations are underway.
Water tanker set on fire
Separately, people set a water tanker on fire after it hit and injured a motorcyclist near UP Morr within the limits of the New Karachi police station. A young motorcyclist, Imran, was passing near UP Morr when a water tanker hit and injured him. SHO Muhammad Ali said the motorcyclist had a minor injury.
