In solidarity: Sherpao visits APS monument
The QWP chief laid a floral wreath at the monument and offered Fateha for the martyrs
PESHAWAR:
Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Monday visited Yadgar-e-Shuhada monument built in honour of children martyred in the Army Public School terror attack in 2014.
According to a handout, Aftab said the nation would never let the blood of these children go to waste and stressed his party was ready to support every effort to eliminate terrorism. The QWP chief laid a floral wreath at the monument and offered Fateha for the martyrs. QWP K-P chief Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao and other office-bearers were also present on the occasion.
Aftab also wished Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, former President Hamid Karzai and Afghan Parliament Lower House Deputy Speaker Mirwais Yasini on Eidul Fitr.
The QWP chief, who is also convener of the Pak-Afghan Parliamentary Friendship Group, discussed the geopolitical situation of the region and issues of mutual concern with the Afghan leadership. He said, “Peace in the region was the need of the hour and both the governments should strive to eliminate hurdles.”
