Illegal constructions: CDA starts crackdown on officers

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a crackdown on officers patronising illegal construction and encroachments. In the first phase, two assistant directors have been made OSDs and an inquiry has been ordered against them. Assistant director Iqbal Mughal was in-charge of Park Road area and assistant director Badar Munir was holding the charge of the G-sector series. Encroachments had been fast growing in the respective areas, said a CDA official while commenting on their relegation. Several shops, plazas, marriage halls, offices and showrooms have been illegally constructed in Sector G-12 alongside Kashmir Highway. “These two officers had been patronising illegal constructions and all encroachments have been made in connivance with them,” the official said.
