Early holidays? Low attendance in govt offices
It is a usual practice. We face this situation every year on Eid
PESHAWAR:
Although the government has been extremely lenient with the Eid holidays that officially begin from July 17 (today), most government officials have already packed up and left a day in advance.
The Civil Secretariat which is the hub of government machinery wore a deserted look with a majority of its staffers absent from duty.
“It is a usual practice. We face this situation every year on Eid,” said a secretariat employees’ federation office-bearer Anwer Khan Banvi. He said most employees belong to far flung areas of the province and, owing to transport problems, leave a day early to join their families in time for Eid.
