Appointment irregularities: Health department records seized
274 people were appointed against the vacancy of 40 positions
HYDERABAD:
A team from the Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment raided the health department’s office in Mirpurkhas on Tuesday and seized records of hundreds of illegal appointments. Assistant director Zawar Hussain Unar said they collected the records from the district health office and Civil hospital. The raid follows widespread complaints of irregularities in the recent appointments on the BPS-15 and lower posts. According to officials in the anti-corruption establishment, 274 people were appointed against the vacancy of 40 positions. Prior to the raid, the secretary reportedly also cancelled a large number of offer letters. The suspended district health officer, Dr Ghulam Hussain Qaimkhani, is allegedly responsible. Unar confirmed that no arrests were made.
