On guard : Rescue 1122 to remain alert on Eid

The Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 will remain on alert during the Eid holidays and staff have been assigned special duties at the district control room and emergency rescue stations.

A press release issued on Wednesday said rescue posts shall be established at Ayub Park, Nawaz Sharif Park, Jinnah Park, GPO Chowk Saddar, Koral Chowk, and T-Chowk, Rawat. Moreover, key points for cover of Eidul Fitr prayers will be established at Eid Gah Sharif, Gawalmandi Children Park, Liaquat Bagh, Jamia Masjid Faizan-e-Nadina Adyala Road, Capt Bilal Shaheed Chowk and 22 Number Chungi Chowk.

District emergency officers have been directed to organise meetings with local mosque committees and ensure that volunteers are available in case of any emergency.

Meetings with management of hospitals have also been held for better management in any untoward incident. Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi has 14 fully-equipped emergency ambulances, 10 fire vehicles, two rescue vehicles, two water bowzers, and two specialised vehicles at its disposal to deal with all sorts of emergencies.
