Malir flyover weakening

Residents of Korangi, Defence, Mehmoodabad and nearby areas need to be careful as continuous extraction of mud from the pillars of Malir flyover can weaken its foundation, said ADO Anti Encroachment Jamil Ahmad Baloch.
He added that the pillars of the flyover have lost strength due to the negligence of the police and authorities concerned. This may prove dangerous during the monsoon season, he said, adding that they have sent letters to higher authorities informing them of the problem but no action has been taken as yet. The City District Government Karachi built the 1.5 kilometre long flyover over the Malir River.
