Vision 2015: Modern, diversified agro sector

Ministry of Planning and Development will create a modern and diversified agricultural sector under its Vision 2015 to ensure a stable and adequate provision of basic food supplies with high quality products to its industries and for export, said an official of the Ministry.   


“Pakistan Vision 2025 envisages seven priority areas of action termed as “Pillars” and Pillar-IV is titled as ‘Water, Energy and Food Security’ with roadmap for future growth of Food and Agriculture sectors,” he said.



The official highlighted the objectives for achieving food security for protecting the most food-insecure segments of the population through effective relief measures.

“The other aim is to optimise production and supply mix in line with current and projected needs by leveraging unique strengths and ensuring the entire supply-chain related to food security is geared towards provision of stable and affordable access to adequate, nutritious food,” he added.
