Admissions open for masters in SSUET

Merit list for BS programme issued.

KARACHI: Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) has invited applications for admissions to different masters programmes. These include MS in electronic engineering with a specialisation in telecommunication, MS in computer engineering with a specialisation in computer networks and software engineering, MS in civil engineering with a specialisation in structural engineering, MS in biomedical engineering and in mathematics.

Applications can be submitted during office hours till January 1, 2011. The admission test will take place on January 8 while interviews will be held on January 10. The minimum requirements for admission in the MS programmes includes a four-year bachelors degree or MSc, 16 years of education from an HEC-recognised university with 60 per cent aggregate marks in the relevant field.

The SSUET registrar, Shah Mahmood H Syed, said that the merit list will be issued on January 13. Offer letters will be sent to successful candidates through courier service.

Last date for depositing fees and completing other formalities is January 22 and classes of the new batch 2011 will start on January 24.

Meanwhile, SSUET has issued the merit list for its six BS programmes. A total of 1,450 students have been selected.

Three hundred and fifty students have been offered admission in electronic engineering, 300 in civil engineering, 350 in computer engineering, 120 in biomedical and telecom engineering each and 300 in computer science.

Offer letters have been dispatched to all successful candidates through courier service.

The candidates have been advised to deposit admission fee by December 29. The session will start on January 10. Students will have to collect admission kits before the start of the session.
