July 27 deadline: SC seeks list of doctors on strike
PMDC is a regulatory institution and it should not become dysfunctional
ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court (SC) has sought a list of doctors who are on strike from Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC ) by July 27. The court remarked “people are dying and doctors who are seen as saviors are observing a strike. No one will be allowed to do any illegal thing this way. Justice Jawwad S Khawaja has remarked: “PMDC is a regulatory institution and it should not become dysfunctional. No one will die in hospitals if PMDC performs its function honestly. A two-member bench of SC led by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja took up the case for hearing Monday. Anwar Mansoor told the court about 16 petitions including the present one are pending hearing against PMDS in the high courts all over the country.
