At least 21 members elected from 92 union councils of Peshawar district during the local government elections have not submitted details of their assets to Election Commission of Pakistan. 


This was stated in a notification issued by the poll body on Monday. According to the document, 81 officials elected from the district during the May 30 polls had been directed to provide details of their assets last month.


“Only 60 elected members have submitted their assets documents,” read the statement.

The document added 12 members from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, two members each from Pakistan Peoples Party and Jamaat-e-Islami, a member each from Awami National Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl and three independent members have not submitted details to ECP.

The statement also provides information of some members who have submitted details of their assets.  “Former federal minister Arbab Alamgir’s son Arbab Zarak Khan Khalil has provided details of property worth Rs33 million and vehicles of Rs8 million,” read the document.

“PTI member Azam Khan has shown details of assets worth Rs20.5 million and gold worth Rs9million.”
