Proposal for science teachers: Hiring only for 8 months from next year

RAWALPINDI:

A proposal has been floated to hire male and female science teachers in schools of Rawalpindi on a contract basis for only eight months from next year.

According to the summary, which has been sent to the provincial chief minister for approval, the teachers will only be hired for the August to March session from the academic year 2016.

According to the proposal, the hired teachers will get no salaries or perks from April to July, when schools are on a break.

A source said all the teachers will be appointed on a contract basis and their contract term will commence from August and end in March.

The contract will be renewed/extended subject to their performance and willingness, the source said. “No other facilities or allowances will be paid to these teachers,” the source shared, adding that if a teacher did not turn up for duty, his or her salary will be deducted. The source added that educational qualification of MA, MSc and MPhil has been proposed for hiring science teachers.
