ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has refused to pick and dispose of trash of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences’ residential colony, which is a nuisance for the residents.

Though the hospital administration repeatedly requested the civic agency to pick and dispose of the garbage, the CDA refused to oblige the request arguing that since the garbage-picking has been outsourced to private contractors, it could not make arrangements to lift the garbage. The civic agency has told the hospital administration that they could hire a private contractor for themselves to pick the rubbish as the area falls in G-8, which has not yet been outsourced to private contractors.

After the refusal from the civic agency, the hospital administration has dug a trench to dump the garbage.

Pims’ head Dr Javed Akram said several requests have been made to CDA to dispose of the garbage but the request has fallen on deaf ears.
