PESHAWAR:

A special force constable was injured when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on a police mobile in Mandra Khel area within the jurisdictions of Khazana police station Saturday night. According to the police, the incident occurred when the mobile was on a routine patrol.

The officials were trying to flag down two suspicious-looking people on a motorbike. However, when the motorcyclists were asked to stop, they opened fire on the police, leaving a constable injured. The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime but left their bike behind.

“The injured constable was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital where his condition is now stable,” said an official of Khazana police station. “The motorbike has been impounded and a search operation had also been launched in the area.”
