Ex-CEO of PESCO arrested
His banking transactions on a local level also involved huge amounts of money
PESHAWAR:
The National Accountability Bureau’s provincial chapter arrested former chief executive of Pesco, Pervez Akhtar Shah, for allegedly accumulating assets well beyond his means of income.
During the course of an inquiry, it was revealed that during his service from 1978 to 2015 in Wapda, he allegedly acquired four valuable plots in Peshawar illegally. It also reportedly came to surface that the suspect accumulated 10 expensive plots worth millions in various locations in Islamabad and its adjacent areas. The accused also procured plots in the WAPDA Employees Cooperative Housing Society in Nowshera.
Shah purchased a 2 kanal 18 marla plot in the Rahat Abad area of Peshawar and constructed a palatial double storey house worth Rs50 million, bought two apartments in the federal capital’s Islamabad Gardens worth Rs30 million and maintained foreign bank accounts in the United Kingdom.
