Non-compliance: CCPO directed to take action against SHO
Tariq said his clients had complained several times but the officials did not remove the wire
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge directed the CCPO on Saturday to take action against the Baghbanpura SHO for not obeying court orders.
Muhammad Abbas had filed a petition through Advocate Muhammad Tariq seeking action against some Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) officials, including the Shalimar Division executive engineer, for not removing a high-voltage wire from close to his house which he said had resulted in the death of two people. Tariq said his clients had complained several times but the officials did not remove the wire. He said Abbas had been unable to use the roof of his house because of the wire. He said a child and his client’s son-in-law had died from an electric shock they received from the wire in 2012 and 2014, respectively.
In September 2014, Additional District and Sessions Judge Ghaffar Mehtab Khan had directed the SHO to address the petitioner’s grievances. He said the SHO had not obeyed the court’s orders.
