LAHORE:
An Anti-Terrorism Court hearing the Daska killings case on Saturday recorded the statements of six prosecution witnesses.

DSJ Bushra Zaman summoned six more witnesses, including two doctors, for the next hearing on July 15.

Shehzad Warraich, the former Daska City SHO, is being tried for killing two people and injuring three others.


At previous hearings, the court had framed charges against Warraich. The accused denied the charges.

Talking to The Express Tribune, the complainants’ counsel Advocate Pervez Cheema said that the court had accepted their plea to hear the case twice a week. Warraich has retained two lawyers. The court has appointed Shehzad Mazhar as his counsel on state expense.

According to prosecution, Warraich had opened fire on a group of lawyers on May 25. Rana Khalid Abbas, the Daska Bar Association president, Advocate Irfan Chohan had died on the spot. Advocate Jahanzeb Sahi and two passers by Abbas Masih and Ziaullah were injured.
