Afridi was taken to hospital after he complained of severe chest and abdomen pains, medical and EC officials said.
An EC official, requesting anonymity, confirmed Afridi’s trip to Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) after he complained of his condition.
At the hospital, staff took him for an ECG and he was shifted to the casualty ward. Afterwards, the minister was moved to the surgery ward for a check-up, said a doctor. “He was in handcuffs during this time,” he noted. The MPA was in the hospital from 1am to 5 am and shifted back to confinement after the pain subsided.
Although his tests came clear, according to an EC official, Afridi was taken to Combined Medical Hospital for further tests when the pain resurfaced.
