Awami National Party has criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmakers for not attending the funeral of a policeman who was gunned down a day earlier in Ishrat Cinema Chowk area near Gulbahar.
Earlier on Friday, police head constable Jannat Gul, a resident of Malogi village on the outskirts of the city, was gunned down. Gul, along with another constable, Shafqat, had been deployed in Gulbahar on a special assignment of curbing street crime in the area. He was riding a motorbike when two men gunned him down.

According to a statement issued by the party on Saturday, ANP’s provincial spokesperson Sardar Hussain Babak said a large number of cops have lost their lives in the line of duty.
“However, the government has failed to share the grief of the bereaved families,” he added. “I don’t understand what message PTI lawmakers wanted to send to supporters and militants by choosing not to attend the funeral,” he said.
