IN PUNJAB: CNG stations to reopen today
The filling stations will be closed for one hour during Sehr and for two hours for Iftar break
ISLAMABAD:
Central leader of the All Pakistan CNG Association, Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, has said that compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations will reopen in Punjab on Saturday.
“The filling stations will be closed for one hour during Sehr and for two hours for Iftar break. They will remain open for 21 hours in a day,” said Paracha in a statement.
After the end of Ramazan, the filling pumps would work for 24 hours a day, including Eid holidays, in a bid to meet the demand of public transport vehicles and private vehicle owners.
Pointing to the two-day delay in reopening the pumps, he said it was due to a technical glitch at the port where imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) was arriving.
CNG was 28% cheaper than petrol while efforts were under way to make the fuel more affordable, he said.
