Heinous crime: Woman ‘raped’ by neighbours
The Millat Town SHO said police had registered an FIR on Ali’s complaint
FAISALABAD:
A woman was abducted by two neighbours and raped, her family said on Thursday.
Rehman Ali, a resident of Millat Town, told The Express Tribune that his niece Maryam* was walking to a market when she was abducted by Arshad and Amjad.
“They took her to a deserted house where they raped her,” he said. He said they had later abandoned her near her house later. “We took her to a hospital. She is in a critical condition,” he said.
The Millat Town SHO said police had registered an FIR on Ali’s complaint and a team had been formed to apprehend the suspects.
Separately, police registered cases against two men suspected of assaulting disabled women in Databad and Chak 433-GB. Police said they had registered the FIR on their parent’s complaint. A police spokesman in Samanabad said an FIR had been registered against a man who had assaulted a girl while she was playing in the park. He said a case had also been registered against two men for abducting and assaulting a boy in Chak 6-JB. *NAMES HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO PROTECT IDENTITIES
