Illicit ties: Identity of slain terrorist established

Police tried to identify the body at the time, but were unable to do so even with the help of NADRA

The counter-terrorism department (CTD) established the identity of a suspected terrorist killed in November 2014 on Mashogagar Road, Badabher. He has been identified as Amir Bacha, a resident of Mohalla Gharibabad in Kanju, Swat. Amir Bacha was killed in an encounter which also claimed the life of police constable Sanjab.



The card of a school in Pakha Ghulam, a 9mm pistol and a hand grenade were recovered from the suspect’s body after the encounter. Police tried to identify the body at the time, but were unable to do so even with the help of NADRA. The case was handed over to CTD which established his identity. The man was believed to be an important member of the TTP Mullah Fazalullah group. His father and brother confirmed his involved with the militant organisation through their statements.
