One killed, two injured in collision
One labourer was killed and two others seriously injured in an accident on the National Highway.
SUKKUR/HYDERABAD:
One labourer was killed and two others seriously injured in an accident on the National Highway, near the Fauji Fertiliser Company, Mirpur Mathelo, on Saturday morning.
Three contract workers, Pehalwan Malhan, Abdul Aziz Malhan and Abdul Samee Malhan, all residents of the village of Jehanpur Sharif, were on their way to work on a motorcycle when a speeding trailer coming from the opposite direction ran them over.
All of them were seriously injured and taken to Rahim Yar Khan Hospital. Abdul Aziz Malhan succumbed to his injuries on Saturday afternoon. The Mirpur Mathelo police have arrested driver Khursheed and seized the vehicle.
Suspicious man sent for questioning
A man, who was arrested at the majlis organised by Mehfil Hussaini on the Station Road in Hyderabad, was taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
The man was wearing a white shawl was allowed to enter the majlis after a body search but, instead of entering the hall, he sat outside to monitor the proceedings. He was taken into custody by the law-enforcement department when he failed to provide any identification.
