QUETTA:

A pair of glasses, a watch, a comb and a purse with Rs14,837, these were the belongings of the slain Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti that were presented before the Anti-Terrorism Court in Quetta on Wednesday.

Bugti was killed during a military operation in 2006 during the Pervez Musharraf regime. Musharraf, and the then interior minister, Balochistan home minister and other government officials are under trial in Bugti’s murder case.

On Wednesday, Justice Aftab Ahmed Lone of the ATC heard the statement of state witness Raja Abdul Aziz, a police official.

However, the counsel for Musharraf avoided questioning the government witness. He added that he would question him later if need be.

Former interior minister Aftab Sherpao was present at the hearing, while ex-home minister Shoaib Nosherwani was granted exemption from appearance in the current hearing.
