QUETTA:

A wave of unfortunate incidents struck various districts of Balochistan on Friday, resulting in the deaths of ten people, including a father and son, and injuries to eight others.

The fatalities occurred due to traffic accidents, firing incidents, a snakebite, and electrocution. Separately, seven individuals abducted from Jhal Magsi district in December 2025 were recovered safely.

Two other individuals sustained injuries in the collision.

In Turbat's Bel Kehran area, unidentified gunmen opened fire, killing Mola Imam and Sikandar. Police said the victims were working in fields at the time of the attack.

In Dera Allah Yar's Bhangar Colony, high-voltage 11,000-volt electricity wires fell on a house, severely burning three children who were injured in the electrocution incident.

In Chagai district, along the Pakistan-Iran RCD Highway near Yak Mach, a vehicle overturned while carrying Afghan nationals attempting to evade customs checks in a non-custom-paid vehicle. The accident killed two people and injured three others.

Meanwhile, in a positive development, police reported the safe recovery of seven people who had been abducted on December 4, 2025, from the Jhal Magsi district while inspecting a water course.

Police officials are investigating the incidents, with further details expected as inquiries continue. These events highlight ongoing safety challenges in parts of the province, including road hazards, law and order issues, and risks from wildlife and infrastructure.
