Tens of lady health workers came together at DCO Chowk on Tuesday to stage a protest demonstration against nonpayment of salaries.
LHW Zahida Malik said they had had not been paid for two months. She said their families were on the verge of starving due to nonpayment of salaries. Malik said LHWs would continue to protest till their outstanding dues had been cleared. She said they would start observing a strike next week on this account. She said they would also boycott the government’s anti-dengue and anti-polio campaigns and the EPI among other initiatives till their demand had been met. “The Sharif brothers should inoculate children themselves,” Malik said.
