A case has been registered and further investigation is underway
KARACHI:
A group of robbers looted a Faysal Bank branch in Malir district on Tuesday, stealing around Rs3.4 million as they fled. Police officials said that at least four armed men entered the bank, located on Abul Hassan Ispahani Road, with the help of the security guards after the bank closed on Monday evening. “They covered the CCTV cameras with tape and remained inside all night,” explained Sacchal SHO Muhammad Shoaib. “When the bank staffers came to work on Tuesday, the robbers held them hostage at gunpoint and looted cash from the lockers.” He added that the initial investigations suggested that the bank’s security guards were involved in the robbery, helping the culprits enter the bank. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
