LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge sought comments from the Misri Shah SHO on Monday on a petition filed by a man seeking the registration of a case against his wife for her role in an alleged plot to extort money from him.

Petitioner Muhammad Khan told the court that he had started receiving threatening phone calls a few months ago. “The unidentified person demanded money and threatened to kill me if I refused,” he said.

“One day, I learnt that he was also calling my wife. I also learnt that my wife was also part of the plot. When I confronted her, she quarrelled with me and went to her parents’ house. I approached the police to register a complaint against my wife. However, the SHO refused to do so,” he said.

He requested the court to direct police to register a case against his wife and the unidentified person.
