Earthquake jolts Swat, neighbouring areas

According to Met office epicenter of the earthquake was 20km west of Mingora

An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale hit Swat valley and surrounding areas on Monday evening, Express News reported.

The tremors were also felt in neighbouring areas of the Swat valley.  No causality or life loss was reported till the filing of this report.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 20km west of Mingora, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), at a depth of 10km, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department.

Earlier on July 2, a mild earthquake jolted parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, including Mansehra, Abbottabad, Chitral and Swat.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake measured 4.9 on the Richter scale and the epicentre of the earthquake was Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
