RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) are working to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during Ramazan, particularly during Iftar hours.

The police on Sunday said they had made a special plan to regulate traffic during the month.

The traffic police have deployed full strength on city roads and around 19 Ramazan bazaars and “dasterkhawans” in the city. All leaves have been cancelled during Ramazan.

City Traffic Officer Shoaib Khurram Janbaz has directed wardens and officers to remain present at their duty points, especially during Iftar hours.

Traffic squads have been deployed at all main intersections. Road users can also dial traffic police helpline 1915 to lodge complaints or give other feedback.

Janbaz said duty hours of traffic wardens have also been increased during Ramazan to ensure smooth traffic flow.

The traffic police have banned parking near mosques and imambargahs due to security concerns.

Police are also cracking down on vehicles with tinted glasses or those moving without number plates.
