Beating the heat: Aman Foundation sets up six relief camps

In response to the recent heatwave that claimed hundreds of lives in the city, the Aman Foundation set up six relief camps to alleviate the suffering of the people.



Aman Health established heat relief camps at Korangi Crossing, Dawood Chowrangi, Nagan Chowrangi, Ayesha Manzil, Nazimabad and Jauhar Morr, where doctors were stationed to treat and advise people about dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Aman Ambulances were also deployed at each site to deal with any emergency situation that may arise. Each camp has also been distributing free-of-charge Iftar, mineral water and ORS to people.


"In eight days, we have served nearly 50,000 people," said Aman Health CEO Dr Saadia Quraishy, adding that their efforts would continue throughout Ramazan.


"Aman Foundation has leveraged its unique healthcare ecosystem network comprising of community health workers, emergency medical services and our urban health institute to provide support services for the affected citizens of Karachi," claimed Aman Foundation CEO Malik Ahmad Jalal.
