Back in black: Munir Shaikh posted as DIG East again
The DIG was replaced because he wanted to go on long leave, according to insiders

Deputy inspector general (DIG) Munir Shaikh has again been posted as the chief of the zone East police, while two more police superintendents were transferred on Friday.
On June 29, the Sindh home department had issued a notification that DIG Asif Ejaz Sheikh, presently serving as the director of the Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment, has been posted as the DIG East, replacing Munir Ahmed Sheikh.
DIG Asif Ejaz Shaikh previously served as the DIG South and the SSP South. On Friday, the Sindh government issued a notification regarding the posting of DIG Munir Shaikh as DIG East while directing Asif Aijaz Shaikh to report to the services and general administration department of the Sindh government.
Munir Shaikh was posted as the zone East DIG in September 2013 when the Karachi operation began. He is the only DIG who is still serving at the same post, as the zone Central and South DIGs have already been transferred. A department official told The Express Tribune that Shaikh was replaced by DIG Asif Aijaz Shaikh as he wanted to go on long leave. He was posted because the Sindh government wanted him to continue his work at the same post.
Meanwhikle, six officers of SSP and SP ranks were also transferred and posted on Friday. According to the notification, Javed Sonharo Jiskani has been appointed as District East SSP, Muhammad Asad Ali Chaudhry has been appointed as the Sindh Police Forensics Division AIG, Altaf Hussain Leghari has been appointed as Saddar division SP, Aftab Nizamani appointed as Lyari division SP, Pir Muhammad Shah has been appointed as Counter-Terrorism Department Operations-II SSP while Pervez Khan Umrani was posted to Shaheed Benazirabad district SSP.
