LAHORE:

Punjab Red Crescent secretary Majboob Qadir Shah said on Thursday that the movement had become synonymous with serving humanity.

Shah made the remarks at the concluding day of a two-day first-aid training workshop organised by the Punjab Red Crescent at Cathedral Church. He said the movement strived to serve every stratum across the province without distinction. Shah said the time was ripe for every individual to overcome barriers of caste, colour and religion and devote themselves to serving the disadvantaged. He said this was in accordance with the tenets of Islam and formed an inextricable part of the road to success.

Pastor Shahid Mairaj, dean of the Cathedral Church, said serving humanity would bring about a silent revolution of peace. He praised the Red Crescent for spearheading efforts to promote tolerance in society.

Pastors from churches across the city and a number of community representatives participated in the initiative.
