PESHAWAR:

Education was the need of the hour in Fata, said Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad on Thursday. A team from Pearson, a global education company, met Mehtab and officials from Fata at the Governor House.

“There are schools and colleges in Fata but they are not functional. An effective delivery system is needed to implement a successful education system there,” said Mehtab. Harood Sethi and Taimoor Khan, members of Sir Michael Barber’s team who is Pearson’s main man behind its strategy for education in the developing world, FATA Additional Chief Secretary Muhammad Aslam Kamboh and the principal secretary to the governor were present at the meeting.

A presentation titled ‘Roadmap for social sector in FATA’ was given to the governor, analysing non-performance indicators, human resources, the monitoring of priority areas and the challenges.
