Clerics’ request: ‘Release Maulana Aziz’s son-in-law’

They said this would help avoid a repeat of the 2007-like situation in the federal capital

ISLAMABAD:
A group of clerics have requested the government to release son-in-law of Maulana Aziz, the de facto Khateeb of Lal Mosque. They said this would help avoid a repeat of the 2007-like situation in the federal capital. Nine clerics in a letter to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar expressed their concern over intelligence agencies taking Aziz’s son-in-law Salman bin Shahid into custody. Salman, an advocate by profession, was picked by the intelligence agencies from Wapda Town, Lahore last week, Maulana Abdul Aziz claimed on Thursday.
