Court orders LDA head called over contempt charges
The LDA chief had also been issued a contempt notice by another judge last week
LAHORE:
Lahore High Court on Wednesday summoned Lahore Development Authority Director General Ahad Cheema for not complying with an order regarding the allotment of plot to a citizen. Munir Ahmad, the petitioner, said that the court had ordered the LDA to allot him a plot, however, the authority had ignored the order.
Ahmad sought contempt proceedings against the director general. Justice Shahid Jamil directed the Housing Department managing director to look into the petitioner’s case and file a decision within a month. However, the judge told Cheema to appear in person on July 8 and explain his position. The LDA chief had also been issued a contempt notice by another judge last week.
